Hidden Gem in Jakarta: Thousand Islands
Denia Sharfina
After a long time deciding which
destination we have to go on next vacation. Me and my cousins decided to go to
the beach. Since Bali is now as crowded as in Jakarta, we look further more
through google to decide where to go. At first, we couldn’t choose between
Lombok and Thousands Island. After further discussion, we then decided Tidung
Island which is located in Thousand Islands. You can only reach Tidung Island
by a boat, it’s a really big boat though. The second option is to use
speedboat. Yet, it’ll cost more if you take the speedboat. Since me and my
cousins are still students, we choose a boat as our transportation. Besides,
what so wrong to make new experience. It takes 1 to 2 hour to get us there. One
tip from me: you should bring Antimo. Considering you’ll get very dizzy and
nauseous if you’re rarely get on board.
Honestly, I am really surprised about
how nice the beach was and how clear the water there. I don’t expect much since
I’m aware that it still located in Jakarta. Turn out it went up from my
expectation. There isn’t any hotel or resorts in that certain time, which is in
2016. So we stayed in some homestay. The homestay is not that big but it’s
clean and homey and for me that’s more than enough.

The rhythmic sound of the waves kept ringing in our ears so we tempted to play and play more on the beach. The package we pick already include water sports, homestay, transportation and snorkeling. All-in-one for 500.000 valid for one person only, it’s way cheaper than in Bali or Lombok.
Overall, it was indeed a nice and
memorable trip. After 2 days went by, sadly we have to go home. I did not
expect we still have hidden gem in Jakarta with a reasonable price also. When
you longing for a nice and short getaway trip. This is could be a right choice
for you.
